The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall across Tamil Nadu as Cyclone Montha strengthens over the Bay of Bengal. An orange alert is in place for Chennai, Tiruvallur, and Ranipet on 27 October. Fishermen have been warned against venturing out from October 25 to October 28, while NDRF and the Indian Coast Guard teams are prepared for deployment.
