Aquamation, also called water cremation, involves dissolving the body in a solution of water and potassium hydroxide under controlled heat/pressure. Soft tissues break down into a sterile liquid containing amino acids, sugars, and salts, while bones are reduced to powder, which is dried, roasted, and ground into ash. It is considered eco-friendly as it reduces energy consumption by nearly 90%.
