Insurrection Act is a federal law that gives US President powers to deploy military or National Guard troops inside US to stop domestic uprisings. Under this law, troops can make arrests and conduct searches--powers they're usually denied. President Donald Trump threatened to use this act if courts and governors continue to block him from deploying National Guard in Democratic-led cities.
