A 60-year-old man in Bengaluru lost ₹2.8 crore after receiving a free smartphone in a parcel sent by scammers posing as bank officials. As per reports, the man received WhatsApp calls from scammers who told him to use the phone to use his new credit card. The phone was reportedly pre-configured with malicious apps that intercepted OTPs.
