Allahabad High Court ruled that Lok Adalat has no authority to dismiss pending complaint for non-appearance of party. It said that if no settlement is reached, then Lok Adalat is "duty bound" to return the case to court concerned. The remark came after the court quashed order passed by Lok Adalat in 2017 dismissing cheque-bounce complaint for non-appearance of complainant.
