Twenty-four-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic lauded debutant Nishesh Basavareddy after defeating him at the Australian Open. He called him a "very complete player" and added that he was "pleasantly surprised with all of his shots". The 19-year-old Indian-origin player from the US won the first set 6-4, however, lost the next three 3-6, 4-6, 2-6.
