As many as 10 people died in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday after a tractor-trolley carrying devotees plunged into a river near Jamli village under the Pandhana police station while returning after Goddess Durga idol immersion, officials said. Expressing grief over the tragedy, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced an ex-gratia of ₹4 lakh for the families of the deceased.
