The amendments to RTI Act, brought through the new Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, won't weaken, but instead strengthen its provisions, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said. DPDP Act came into force on November 14 and requires firms to safeguard digital data of Indian citizens. Through the act, citizens will know what private information tech companies have collected, Vaishnaw said.
