Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said the country will immediately begin negotiations for the release of hostages held in Gaza and an end to the nearly two-year-old conflict, but only on "terms acceptable to Israel". Netanyahu stated he remains committed to approving plans to defeat Hamas and capture Gaza. Hamas has reportedly accepted a ceasefire-hostage deal proposed by Egypt and Qatar.
