Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) joint secretary and ABVP member Deepika Jha, who slapped a professor in front of police personnel, said the professor stared and smirked at her and was in an inebriated state. "After seeing all this, I felt angry and raised my hand," she stated. "I regret the incident and I apologise to teachers' community," Jha added.
