Special counsel Jack Smith, who oversaw two federal criminal cases against Donald Trump, is planning to resign before the 78-year-old is inaugurated as US President on January 20, 2025, according to reports. Trump, who has frequently blasted Smith, had said that he would fire him "in two seconds" after his inauguration.
