A controversy erupted after Lady Shri Ram College named the pre-Diwali fest 'Noor'. Three Karnataka-based activists wrote to Principal Suman Sharma accusing LSR of completely omitting the word Diwali. "First, they tried to stop Hindus from celebrating it [Diwali]...and when they failed...they started Islamising it," an X user wrote. Another person said they should change college's name too.
