Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and BJP leader Champai Soren won from the Seraikela constituency in the state Assembly elections. Champai defeated Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate Ganesh Mahali by 20,447 votes. Notably, Champai joined the BJP in August this year after resigning from the JMM. The voting for Jharkhand elections took place in two phases on November 13 and 20.
