Researchers at Liverpool John Moores University have digitally reconstructed the faces of four Colombian mummies dating from 1216 to 1797 AD. The mummies, originally buried with elaborate death masks, were digitally unmasked using CT scans. Special software then rebuilt muscles, soft tissue, and fat over each skull, creating accurate facial reconstructions.
