The UK has planned to criminally charge people who create and share sexually explicit deep fake images. Capturing someone's intimate images without consent and installing equipment to that effect could now attract prison terms of up to two years. Currently, it is only an offence to capture an intimate image without consent in certain circumstances in the UK.
