Bangladesh's Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman has sought to drop the word "secular" from the Constitution. "Secularism does not reflect the realities of Bangladesh where 90% of the population is Muslim," he reportedly said during a hearing on the legality of the 15th Constitutional Amendment. He said that honouring Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's contributions is vital but "enforcing it creates division".
