Indian airlines have lost ₹500 crore so far due to the recent spate of hoax bomb threats, NDTV Profit reported. When flights receive bomb threats, they are diverted to the nearest airport and make emergency landings. In such cases, airlines bear additional costs for fuel, food and accommodation for passengers, parking charges, and overtime pay to pilots and flight attendants.
