Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said Bangladesh should ascertain people's will and mandate and should conduct free and fair elections as soon as possible. Notably, Bangladesh interim leader Muhammad Yunus has announced plans to hold elections between December 2025 and June 30, 2026. Yunus has stated he will not stay in power beyond June 30 next year.
