Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, presenting the Union Budget on Saturday, allocated ₹6.81 lakh crore towards Defence expenditure for FY 2025-26, 9.53 per cent more than Budgetary Estimate for FY 2024-25. The allocation stands at 13.45 per cent of Union Budget, the highest among the Ministries. Out of ₹6,81,210 crore, ₹1,80,000 crore has been dedicated to Capital Outlay on Defence Services.
