India's fiscal deficit widened to ₹8.25 lakh crore for the April-October period, according to the latest data by the Controller General of Accounts. The deficit reached 52.6% of the FY26 target, compared to 46.5% in the same period a year ago. Total receipts stood at ₹18 lakh crore during the period, while overall expenditure was ₹26.25 lakh crore.
