Iran executed nine militants belonging to the Islamic State who had planned to carry out terrorist attacks against civilians in the country. The death sentences were carried out after confirmation by Iran's Supreme Court, an Iranian news outlet said. "This terrorist cell intended to infiltrate Iran and conduct simultaneous attacks in border and central cities," the news outlet added.
