Following the unnatural death of 31 blackbucks at Belagavi Zoo, Karnataka will recruit 15 specialised wildlife veterinarians. Minister Eshwar Khandre announced a separate cadre for zoos and elephant camps to ensure prompt veterinary care. Measures are underway to treat remaining animals, prevent disease spread, and strengthen wildlife health monitoring across the state.
