Talking about IPL auctions shifting to Indian rupee after first few auctions took place in US dollar, ex-IPL auctioneer Richard Madley said US dollar didn't suit franchise owners. He added, "Players liked being sold in US dollar as dollar strengthened against the rupee." He further said, "Decision was made to change currency to make it more controllable, manageable and budget-able."
