After the US slapped a 30% tariff on European Union's goods, the EU said it remains committed to protecting its own interests. "Tariffs are taxes. They fuel inflation, create uncertainty and hinder economic growth. We will continue to build strong trade partnerships worldwide," European Council President Antonio Costa said. The US has also imposed a 30% tariff on Mexico.
