Pankaj Kapur, Shahid Kapoor's father, spoke about his son's film choice to pick 'Kabir Singh'. He said, "He was getting only sweet boy roles...[He] became intelligent about which films to do and which to not." He added, "He's done good work in 'Kabir Singh'...[Toxic masculinity] exists in society and because somebody made a film on it, we started objecting it."
