A 24-year-old passenger suffered temporomandibular joint dislocation while yawning at railway station in Kerala. It occurs when lower jaw moves out of its normal position at the joint where it connects to skull (the TMJ). It is usually not life-threatening, but to avoid muscle spasms or long-term joint problems, it requires prompt medical attention. It can even happen during vomiting.
